Biography
Joseph Ball, born in 1803, kept watch over the farms and orchards that framed the Evergreen neighborhood, guiding the growth of the community with both industry and generosity. His calm counsel proved invaluable whenever neighbors debated improvements to roads and drainage that kept their fields productive.
He took particular joy in seeing the next generations learn to tend the land, often offering shelter to those who needed a place to rest, and his thoughtful presence was felt in every corner of Evergreen until 1875.
