Biography

Sir Joseph Banks was a naturalist of remarkable curiosity whose voyages and gardens expanded the world of British science. As President of the Royal Society he championed research, mentored young explorers, and sponsored botanical study that helped to illuminate the rich diversity of life on every continent.

His resting place at St Leonard's Church, Heston, is visited by those who celebrate the spirit of discovery that he inspired.
