Joseph Curwen

Biography

Joseph Curwen, born in 1778, devoted his life to the Lower Merion Baptist Church, nurturing spiritual growth and encouraging moral reflection among the congregations around Philadelphia.

He shared sermons and hospitality that comforted families and helped sustain a sense of continuity in the years after the War of 1812, leaving a memory cherished at the Lower Merion Baptist Church Cemetery.
