Joseph F. Smith

Biography

Joseph F. Smith, born in 1838, served as a devout leader of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, guiding its members through a period of rapid growth and institutional maturation. A grandson of the Prophet Joseph Smith, he shepherded the church with a steady faith, establishing welfare institutions and encouraging service among the Saints.

He remained a beloved patriarch of his community until his death in 1918, leaving an enduring legacy of compassionate leadership and dedication to the gospel. His remains rest in the Salt Lake City Cemetery, where generations have gathered to honor his memory.
