Biography
Joseph G. LaPointe, Jr. (1948-1969) followed a call to serve as an Army medic, facing immense danger to care for fellow soldiers and repeatedly placing himself between harm and those in need. His bravery in Vietnam earned him the Medal of Honor and continues to inspire future generations.
Though his time was brief, his story endures in medals, letters, and the hearts of those he saved; Riverside Cemetery now holds his memory as families pause to honor his courage.
