Joseph Livesey

Biography

Joseph Livesey, born in 1812, became a pioneering advocate for temperance, using his pen and his voice to encourage moral reform across the region.

The enduring influence of his work is commemorated at the Church of St. Swithin in Baumber, where he was laid to rest in 1854.
