Biography

Josiah Quincy (1859–1919) upheld a legacy of civic-minded service, spending his adult years attentive to the needs of his neighbors in the greater Boston area. He approached each challenge with thoughtfulness and with a steady desire to strengthen the civic fabric of his city.

He was known for being generous with both time and counsel, encouraging the young people around him to take pride in their work and in the history they inherited; his memory is honored at Mount Wollaston Cemetery.
