Józef Montwiłł (1850–1911) was a politician and benefactor who financed libraries, schools, and charitable institutions across Vilnius, believing that accessible education and healthcare were the foundation of a flourishing society.

His philanthropic vision strengthened the social fabric and ensured that the city could offer help to the most vulnerable, and his grave at Rasos Cemetery remains a place where gratitude for his generosity is expressed.
