Józef Unger (1817–1874) was a prominent Polish publisher who played a significant role in the dissemination of knowledge and literature during the nineteenth century. Unger's legacy as a publisher extended beyond commercial enterprise, as he was instrumental in bringing important works to Polish readers. He was laid to rest at Powązki Cemetery, one of Warsaw's most distinguished burial grounds, reflecting his standing in Polish society.
