Biography

József Képessy was among the early generations of association football players in Hungary, embracing the sport’s pioneering spirit with enthusiasm and steady determination. His athleticism and team-minded approach helped lay a foundation for the game’s growth in the country during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Even as the sport evolved around him, he remained devoted to fair play and camaraderie, setting an example for younger athletes. His life concluded in 1943, and his legacy is quietly honored at Fiume Road Graveyard.
