Biography
József Újvári was a Hungarian association football player who competed during the early development of organized football in Hungary. His athletic career contributed to the growth of the sport in the nation during the early 20th century.
Újvári's participation in football reflected the emerging sporting culture of Hungary. Though his life was cut short, his memory is preserved at the New Public Cemetery in Budapest, where he was laid to rest.
