Biography

Juan Francisco de Vidal (1800–1863) was a distinguished military officer who served Peru during its formative years as an independent nation. He participated in key military campaigns and held important positions within the armed forces during the mid-nineteenth century.

Vidal's military career reflected the challenges faced by Peru's defense establishment during a period of regional conflicts and internal reorganization. His contributions to military affairs were recognized by his burial in the Panteón de los Próceres, Peru's most prestigious national cemetery.
