Biography
Juanita Abernathy was a stalwart of the civil rights movement, helping to organize the Montgomery bus boycott and supporting the work of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference alongside other leaders as the movement swelled across the South.
Later in life she guided young people, mentored activists, and remained a steady presence in her church and community, leaving a legacy of grace and perseverance that endures in Lincoln Cemetery and beyond.
