Judah Alkalai

Biography

Judah Alkalai, born in 1798, was a rabbi whose visionary writings urged Jewish communities to renew their connection to the ancestral homeland through faith-inspired initiative. His works anticipated later movements and stirred hope among those who longed for a return to Jerusalem.

He passed away in 1878 and was laid to rest on the Mount of Olives Jewish Cemetery, where his early advocacy for national renewal lives on in the hearts of many who revere his prophetic voice.
