Julie Ehrer was born in 1843 in Vire, a historic town in Normandy. She lived a life centered on family and household management, roles that were central to the social fabric of her community during the 19th century.

Ehrer's long life spanned nearly nine decades, witnessing significant changes in French society from the mid-19th century through the early 20th century. She passed away in 1928, having been part of the Vire community for most of her life.
