Biography

Julius Houseman (1832–1891) became known as a generous steward of commerce and public life, giving careful thought to how the emerging town could support both merchants and working families. Even after the bustle of his days, he kept close ties with the people of Oakhill, and his name is still spoken with gratitude near his gravesite at Oakhill Cemetery.
