Biography
Juozas Bagdonas devoted his medical expertise to the Lithuanian armed forces, serving through the upheavals of the early twentieth century as a military physician who stood at the side of soldiers from the War of Independence through the interwar years.
He was respected for training generations of army surgeons and for his calm stewardship of field hospitals, leaving a legacy of compassion and professionalism that comforted many wounded men; his memory rests at Kudirkos Naumiestis cemetery.
