Biography
Kagiya Kana was a skilled weaver of the Edo period, known for her contributions to textile arts during a transformative time in Japanese craftsmanship. Her work exemplified the dedication and artistry that characterized traditional weaving practices of her era.
Kana spent her life perfecting her craft and passed away in 1864 at the age of eighty-two. She was laid to rest at Chōraku-ji Temple, where her memory continues to be honored as part of the temple's community of notable artisans and patrons.
