Biography

Kaoru Moto, born in 1917, joined the 100th Infantry Battalion and, amidst the fearsome battles of the Italian Campaign, performed the courageous deeds that earned him the Medal of Honor and exemplified the valor of Japanese-American soldiers fighting for freedom.

His bravery and humility continue to inspire visitors to the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, where his memory stands as a beacon of loyalty, patriotism, and quiet resolve.
