Biography

Karel Konrád (1842–1894) was a Czech writer who contributed to the literary culture of Bohemia during the nineteenth century. He worked during a period of significant Czech cultural development, when writers were instrumental in fostering national consciousness and literary achievement in the Czech lands.

Konrád's literary endeavors reflected the intellectual currents of his era. His recognition through burial in the Vyšehrad cemetery, Prague's most prestigious burial ground for notable figures, acknowledges his contributions to Czech letters and his place in the cultural heritage of his nation.
