Biography

Karel Moos (1943–1996) was a Czech citizen born during World War II whose formative years coincided with the early Cold War period. Growing up in communist Czechoslovakia, he came of age during the 1950s and 1960s, witnessing both ideological consolidation and cultural ferment.

Moos lived through the Prague Spring of 1968 and the subsequent decades of normalized communist rule. His life extended into the post-1989 democratic period, allowing him to witness the transformation of his nation into an independent, democratic Czech Republic. He was buried at Olšany Cemetery in Prague.
