Karel Němec

Biography

Karel Němec (1839–1901) was a skilled gardener whose horticultural expertise contributed to the beautification and cultivation of gardens in Prague during the nineteenth century. His profession reflected the growing appreciation for landscape design and botanical knowledge during this period.

Though his profession was practical rather than artistic in the traditional sense, gardeners like Němec played an important role in shaping the aesthetic and natural environments of their communities. His burial in Vyšehrad cemetery indicates the respect accorded to his contributions.
