Karel Zika
1898–1918 (age 20)
Biography
Karel Zika belonged to a generation whose promise was barely gestated before the great upheavals of the early twentieth century; his presence in Prague was marked by steady kindness and a willingness to assist neighbors in need.
He rests now at Olšany Cemetery, a youthful reminder of how many lives were abbreviated and how every life, however short, helped shape the community around it.
