Kathy Fiscus was a bright three-year-old whose brief life and tragic accident in 1949 captured the attention of an entire nation. Her curiosity and sweet smile endeared her to family and friends, and when she fell into a well, the community rallied around her with hope and prayer.
Though rescuers endured long hours and the outcome was sorrowful, her story heightened awareness of safety for children and reshaped the way the media covered breaking news; Katherine now rests at Glen Abbey Memorial Park, remembered as a little girl whose memory inspired greater care for others.
