Biography
Kayışzade Hafız Osman (1894–?) was a skilled Ottoman hattat, or calligrapher, who practiced the refined art of Islamic calligraphy. The hattat tradition represented one of the highest forms of artistic expression in Ottoman culture, requiring years of dedicated study and practice.
Osman's work as a calligrapher contributed to the preservation and advancement of this venerable Ottoman artistic tradition. He was laid to rest at Merkezefendi Cemetery, a significant burial ground in Istanbul.
