Keith Lucas

1879–1916 (age 37)

Biography

Keith Lucas was a dedicated scientist whose work in neurophysiology brought clearer understanding of the electrical impulses guiding the nervous system. A thoughtful experimenter and enthusiastic lecturer, he inspired many pupils to take up inquiry into the mysteries of life.

Though his life ended suddenly amid the war, the foundation he laid in biophysics carried on through those who continued his research. Aldershot Military Cemetery now holds a quiet witness to the career of a man who married curiosity with integrity.
