Biography

Kitao Masayoshi (1764–1824) was a distinguished Japanese painter of the Edo period, known for his contributions to the development of ukiyo-e and traditional painting styles. He worked during a transformative era in Japanese art and left a lasting influence on contemporary artistic practices.

Masayoshi's works reflected the refined aesthetic sensibilities of his time, combining technical mastery with creative innovation. He was buried at Mitsuzō-in Temple, a testament to his respected place in Edo society.
