Biography

Koji Shima was a distinguished Japanese screenwriter whose career spanned much of the twentieth century. Working primarily in the golden age of Japanese cinema, he contributed to numerous films that shaped the nation's cinematic landscape during a transformative period in film history.

Shima's screenwriting work reflected the artistic and cultural developments of his era, and he remained active in the film industry throughout his long career. He was laid to rest at Tama Cemetery, a final resting place for many notable figures in Japanese arts and culture.
