Biography

Kristian Carøe practiced medicine through the final decades of the 19th century and the early years of the 20th, tending to the needs of soldiers and their families attached to Copenhagen's garrison as well as the broader community.

He was remembered for his calm presence, for explaining difficult decisions with care, and for making himself available to those in distress, leaving a quiet but lasting imprint on the lives he touched.
