Biography

La Fayette Grover devoted decades to public service, including leadership roles as Governor of Oregon and United States Senator, guiding the young state through its early challenges with vision and patience. His faith in the promise of the American West and in the strength of democratic institutions sustained him in times of debate and transition.

After his tenure in public office he remained a respected elder statesman, offering counsel and embracing opportunities to support the growth of communities across Oregon; he now rests at River View Cemetery, his memory preserved by the grateful citizens he served.
