Biography
Lajos Katona, born in 1862, devoted himself to the study of Hungary’s rich cultural traditions, traveling extensively to record folk customs, songs, and stories that might otherwise have been lost.
His ethnological publications and diligent field notes deepened the understanding of national identity, and he now rests in Fiume Road Graveyard, where scholars recall his careful stewardship of those treasured memories.
