Landon Rives Longworth

Biography

Landon Rives Longworth, born in 1846, belonged to one of Cincinnati's most distinguished families and served as a careful steward of its civic, cultural, and agricultural interests during a period of rapid change.

He delighted in nurturing the city's gardens and public spaces, offering his time and resources to organizations that mirrored his sense of civic pride, and after his death in 1897 he was laid to rest at Spring Grove Cemetery alongside generations of the Longworth clan.
