Biography
Laura Bridgman (1829–1889) became the first deaf-blind person to receive a formal education, studying at Perkins School for the Blind and developing tactile literacy that astonished the world.
She later welcomed visitors and corresponded with supporters, sharing the lessons of patience and courage she embodied; she now lies at Dana Cemetery.
