Biography

Lawrence J. Hogan, born in 1928 and a stalwart of Frederick, represented Maryland in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1969 to 1975, earning a reputation as a thoughtful moderate who supported fiscal discipline and was an early advocate for oversight during the Watergate era.

After leaving Congress he returned to Frederick County, where he continued to mentor young leaders and serve the community that shaped his enduring commitment to principled public life until his passing in 2017.
