Lawrence Johnson was an early settler of The Woodlands, born in 1801 at the dawn of the nineteenth century. He lived through the formative decades of American expansion and community building in the region.

Johnson's fifty-nine years of life represented a significant contribution to The Woodlands' early history and development. His legacy remains part of the community's historical foundation, preserved in this historic cemetery.
