Biography

Lehte Rannut, born in 1930, was a linguist fascinated by the textures of language and the stories embedded in every dialect. Her research celebrated the richness of Estonian speech, helping to preserve idioms and expressions for future generations.

She shared her insights generously with students and colleagues, encouraging a respect for the living language as a cultural treasure. Her legacy remains cherished at Rahumäe Cemetery, where she was laid to rest in 1978.
