Lemuel Milk, born in 1820, was a skilled craftsman whose careful hands supported the construction of countless homes and barns across the region. His work reflected a quiet pride in doing the job well, and he frequently stayed late to ensure that friends and neighbors were not left in need of shelter.

Throughout his life Lemuel valued fellowship, whether sharing a potluck supper or lending an ear to someone burdened by worry. He is remembered at Mound Grove Cemetery, where his steady presence lives on in the stories of those he helped.
