Biography

Léon Ponscarme (1879–1916) was a French sport cyclist who competed during the early years of organized cycling in France. His athletic career spanned the turn of the twentieth century, a period of growing enthusiasm for cycling as both sport and recreation.

Ponscarme's life was cut short by his death in 1916, during the First World War. He was honored with burial at Père Lachaise Cemetery in Paris, a testament to his recognition in French sporting circles.
