Biography

Léon Pousthomis was a French caricaturist whose satirical and artistic talents entertained and commented on French society during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Born in 1881, he worked in a tradition of social commentary through visual humor and artistic skill.

Pousthomis's career was cut short when he died in 1916 during the First World War. He was cremated and his remains placed at Crématorium-columbarium du Père-Lachaise, one of Paris's most prestigious final resting places, honoring his contributions to French artistic and cultural life.
