Biography

Leopold of the Two Sicilies, Count of Syracuse, was an Italian sculptor and member of the Bourbon royal family. Born in 1813, he combined aristocratic privilege with artistic talent, creating works that reflected the cultural sophistication of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies. His sculpture contributed to the artistic heritage of southern Italy during the 19th century.

Leopold's life was cut short in 1860, a year of significant political upheaval in Italy. His final resting place at Santa Chiara in Naples reflects both his royal status and his artistic contributions to Italian culture.
