Leopold von Berchtold

Biography

Leopold von Berchtold was born in 1759 and brought rigor and compassion to his medical practice, serving patients in Prague with a dedication informed by the latest Enlightenment-era learning.

He tended to the sick around the Chapel of Saint Barbara, advised civic authorities on public health, and remained a trusted physician until his burial there.
