Biography

Léopoldine Hugo was a member of the prominent Hugo family, daughter of the celebrated author Victor Hugo, whose life was marked by the cultural prominence of her family. Though her years were few, she represented the continuation of one of France's most distinguished literary dynasties during the nineteenth century.

Léopoldine's brief life and her burial in Villequier reflect the family's connections to the Normandy region.
