Lester Flatt was a legendary bluegrass musician who helped define the genre through his distinctive guitar playing and vocal contributions. Born in 1914, he became best known for his partnership with Earl Scruggs, with whom he formed one of the most influential duos in American music history.

Flatt's career spanned decades, during which he performed on the Grand Ole Opry and appeared on numerous recordings that shaped the sound of bluegrass music. His technical skill and warm baritone voice made him a beloved figure in country and bluegrass circles until his death in 1979.
