Levi Goodrich

Biography

Levi Goodrich combined an engineer's precision with an architect's appreciation for beauty, helping to design the public buildings and residences that gave shape to the towns he served in the mid-nineteenth century. His work offered both shelter and pride to citizens seeking stability in unsettled times.

He was equally generous with his time, mentoring younger craftsmen and sharing the lessons of a lifetime on the frontier, and when he passed in 1887 he was laid to rest at Oak Hill Memorial Park, remembered for the durable works he left in every community he touched.
