Biography

Levi P. Morton was born in 1824 and served his country with distinction as the twenty-second Vice President of the United States under President Benjamin Harrison, later becoming Governor of New York and United States Minister to France. His dignified service and thoughtful diplomacy left a lasting mark on the nation.

After years in public life, he returned to the Hudson Valley, where he is remembered for his steadfast leadership and is laid to rest in Rhinebeck Cemetery among familiar hills and valleys.
