Biography

Lewis Disney Fytche (1738–1822) was a man of property and standing during the Georgian era who maintained estates and residences befitting his social station. His long life spanned nearly a century, allowing him to witness the transformation of England from the mid-18th century through the Napoleonic Wars and into the post-war period.

Mr. Fytche was laid to rest at Danbury Place, his family seat, where his memory was preserved among the monuments of his estate. His longevity and the preservation of his burial place testify to the enduring nature of his family's position and influence.
