Lieutenant Girardon
1920–1944 (age 24)
Biography
Born in 1920, Lieutenant Girardon answered the call to arms as France faced occupation, bringing steady leadership to the units around him and a calm sense of duty that inspired the soldiers he led.
In 1944 he remained on the front lines until he fell in service of his comrades, and his spirit rests now among the rows of the Nécropole nationale de Boulouris, where visitors honor the sacrifice of those who kept the cause of liberty alive.
