Llewellyn Powers rose from the Maine bar to serve as governor and as a representative in the U.S. Congress, carrying with him a steady concern for rural towns and the families who tilled Maine’s soil.
He championed fair legislation for agriculture, infrastructure, and education, always seeking practical solutions that balanced budgetary care with the needs of working people, and he now rests in Tilton Corner Cemetery.
