Biography

Lodovico Altieri was an Italian Catholic priest whose ecclesiastical service extended through the mid-nineteenth century. His religious vocation reflected the continuing importance of the Catholic Church in Italian society during a period of profound political and social change.

Altieri's priestly ministry contributed to the spiritual life of his community during an era when the Church faced new challenges and questions about its role in a modernizing Italy. He was buried in Campo Verano, the principal cemetery of Rome, where his memory rests among the faithful.
