Lorenzo Carter

Biography

Lorenzo Carter (1766–1814) was an early settler and community figure in the Erie region during the formative years of American expansion into the Ohio Territory. He contributed to the establishment and development of settlements in this frontier area during a period of significant territorial growth.

Carter's brief life spanned the Revolutionary War era and the early years of American territorial expansion. His burial at Erie Street Cemetery marks his place in the local community's history and the pioneering efforts of those who established settlements in the Great Lakes region.
